At Esri Ireland, we are committed to helping our customers and our communities when disaster strikes. Esri have a well established Disaster Response Program and we've been helping 1000’s of organisations across the globe respond to COVID-19.
We have also created a number of solutions and templates specific to the COVID-19 pandemic, known as the Coronavirus Recovery Solutions. The Coronavirus Recovery Solutions are a set of ArcGIS Solutions that help both the public and private sector take steps to reopen and recover from the impacts of COVID-19 in their community. ArcGIS Solutions are a set of configurable, industry specific maps and applications compiled into a package that can be deployed to your ArcGIS Online account in minutes.
Over the coming weeks we will showcase a number of solutions that we believe can assist businesses and government across Ireland.
The first of these is the ArcGIS Business Continuity Solution.
The Business Continuity solution is a configuration of ArcGIS Online that helps organisations understand how COVID-19 is impacting their daily operations. It allows organisations to monitor the status of facilities, the status of their workforce capacity and optionally the health status of employees. If you use ArcGIS then you already have access to this solution.
The solution makes it easy for employees to report on the status of facilities; check in with their work locations; view facility status and workforce capacity on dashboards; and communicate closures and disruptions to customers and the public.
1. The first application included in the ArcGIS Business Continuity Solution is an ArcGIS Dashboard. This allows managers to check on the status of their employees and understand where they are working as well as how they are currently being affected by COVID-19. There is an associated Survey123 form provided with this solution, where employees can daily update on their work status and COVID-19 symptoms or any other information that your business requires. This is then displayed in real-time for managers and decision makers to see.
2. The second application provided is the Facilities Status Dashboard, which shows the status and operations of all of an organisation’s offices / facilities. This can be used by organisations to show if and how they have been impacted by COVID-19 at any given time, including information such as restricted opening hours, reduced workforce capacity etc. This information is captured by an associated Facilities Status Survey, typically completed by a Facility Manager.
3. A third application provided in the Solution is an ArcGIS Hub site. This enables you to communicate key information with your entire workforce or with the public, on what measures you are taking to keep them safe. If appropriate, you can share your dashboards and survey forms on your ArcGIS Hub site.
Deploying this ArcGIS Solution is very simple – all you need to do is go to the homepage on the Solutions page and press Deploy Now. This will then create the layers, tables, maps and apps necessary in your ArcGIS Online account. In order to get started, you will need to add in a list of your employees and teams, and a list of your facilities. Your workforce will then be able to start taking the surveys and the information will be made available via the dashboards in real-time.
Full instructions on how to configure this solution for your own business, can be found here. Please get in touchwith our team if you would like to know more.
