Patricia Cleary appointed as Lifelong Learning Programme Manager at Esri Ireland

• Lead and develop the Lifelong Learning Programme

Esri Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), is today announcing the appointment of Patricia Cleary to Lifelong Learning Programme Manager. 

In this role, Patricia will be central to driving and championing Esri’s Lifelong Learning Programme, which provides free access to Esri’s online digital mapping system, ArcGIS Online, for primary and post primary schools across the island of Ireland. She will lead and develop the programme, training teachers to use GIS as one of their educational tools. This will equip students with spatial skills to help them better understand their planet and become better problem solvers and evidence-based decision makers into the future.

Patricia has over 25 years of experience in GIS, working across a number of sectors throughout Ireland and Australia. Since joining Esri Ireland in 2003, she has held various technical and management roles, bringing her skills and expertise in the application of GIS technology to many sectors including local and central government departments, SMEs and NGOs.  In her most recent role as a Customer Success Manager at Esri Ireland, she managed and resourced projects for large utility companies in Ireland. 

Patricia holds a Masters and Bachelor of Science in Geomatics from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

Speaking on her appointment, Patricia Cleary said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as Lifelong Learning Programme Manager at Esri Ireland. My goal in this role is to leverage the power of GIS to educate the next generation of decision makers.

“I am passionate about working with customers to identify how GIS can be useful to them, while also building relationships and being a trusted advisor. I feel this experience will be invaluable when engaging with teachers and students. I’m excited about embedding GIS in education on this next stage of my journey at Esri Ireland.”
