Esri Ireland maps Ireland’s 2021 Blue Flag beaches

Esri Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has created an interactive digital map of Ireland’s Blue Flag beaches and marinas for 2021.

The map was built using Esri’s ArcGIS mapping system.

This year, 83 Irish beaches have received the accolade, as well as 10 marinas. The Blue Flag season for beaches in Ireland coincides with the bathing season which runs from June 1st to September 15th (the marina season extends until December). Blue Flag sites are only awarded for one season at a time.

The Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognised eco-labels. Beaches and marinas that achieve this accolade comply with a specific set of criteria relating to water quality, information provision, environmental education, safety and beach management.
