Esri Ireland partners with TravelTime
As part of our Data & Content offering to provide premium data services that can be viewed and analysed within with ArcGIS, Esri Ireland is delighted to announce its partnership with international public transport data provider TravelTime.
Using TravelTime international data, Esri Ireland customers can now perform multi-modal location data analysis, right within ArcGIS. TravelTime calculates journey times using various travel modes including public transport, driving, cycling and walking, resulting in isochrone visualisations in ArcGIS. Adding another powerful dimension to ArcGIS, customers can now map, rank and sort location-based data by multimodal travel time instead of distance, alongside the thousands of other datasets within the platform. It can also return the exact travel times and distances for thousands of journeys within a catchment in a few clicks or create travel time and distance matrices.
This collaboration between Esri Ireland and TravelTime can improve decision-making for a wide range of organisations and is particularly valuable to the property, retail, planning and central/local government sectors. TravelTime is already being used by the NHS in the UK and other organisations to determine the best locations for COVID-19 testing centres, planning ambulance dispatch locations and creating geofences for home deliveries.
Other applications include site selection for offices, retail outlets or government services, optimising delivery routes, and marketing to specific audiences. Real estate experts Knight Frank use TravelTime’s plugin in ArcGIS to analyse site accessibility and commute times to different office spaces using multi-modal transport data. The location intelligence they gather through use of the tool helps them provide the most accurate information to their clients.
“Understanding journey time data is crucial when businesses need to attract or serve employees, customers, or members of the public. The ArcGIS plug-in which enables accessibility to TravelTime data means that it’s easier and quicker to generate multi-modal travel time visualisations. Esri Ireland customers can now benefit from the power of travel time analysis in their usual workflows, integrating it with maps, apps and dashboards. Having rapid access to such comprehensive public transport travel times will greatly enrich the decision-making processes ,” Paul Synnott, Managing Director, Esri Ireland.
TravelTime is constantly updating their data, increasing its comprehensiveness. Their current coverage includes Ireland, the UK, all of Europe, North America, Australia and more.
