Goals:

After attending this course you will have a thorough understanding of the functionality and new options contained within ArcGIS Server 10; namely: 

  • Investigate the client and server components of ArcGIS Server architecture 
  • Understand the processes behind authoring, publishing and consuming GIS Services 
  • Learn how to configure an existing model and publish it as a geoprocessing service 
  • Discover how to perform editing over the web using the new Feature service 
  • Work with visualisation services (map and image services and learn how to make your application “time” aware. 
  • Listen to how standard GIS services can be made OGC compliant (WMS, WFS, WCS, KML) 
  • Investigate which is the most appropriate Web API to build your ArcGIS Server web sites 
  • Build and use existing web applications that consume GIS Services using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript
