Eamonn Doyle our CTO on Newstalk this morning

Eamonn Doyle, Chief Technology Officer was a guest on Conor Brophy's Business Breakfast, Newstalk this morning to discuss how GI and GIS is helping in terms of emergency management and clean up efforts following the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

He also discussed how the Department of Environment Heritage and Local Government along with Local Authorities are leveraging ESRI Technology in terms of Local and National Development Planning for more transparency in decision making now and in the future.

The state of Irish coastal and inland waterways was also discussed, with Eamonn giving examples of how the public can access up to date interactive web mapping applications to inform them on which beaches are safe to bathe in, along with a background to the Water Framework Directive and how this will help bring all Irish waterways in line with european standards
