OSNI ® accredit ESRI Ireland as a Licensed Partner

2007-07-03

ESRI Ireland is proud to be one of the first GIS companies in Ireland to be awarded Licensed Partner Status from Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland® (OSNI®), an agreement that copper-fastens an already solid working relationship. OSNI’s Licensed Partner Programme aims to build relationships with solution providers to add value to Geographic Information and to enable users of OSNI data to utilise and implement GI services.

“Since our formation in 2002, ESRI Ireland has consistently delivered added value to OSNI data on behalf of Central Government, Local Government and Private sector clients in .  We are very pleased that our efforts to date have been recognised by OSNI.  Becoming an OSNI Licensed Partner now affords us greater opportunity to work more closely with OSNI and our clients, in bridging the gap between the supply of Northern Ireland base mapping data and its application as an information source that addresses the business requirements of the Northern Ireland GI community”, commented Paul Synnott, Head of Sales at ESRI Ireland.

He added “Many organisations struggle to implement, manage and maintain base mapping datasets as an integral part of their GIS systems and applications, having to develop their own bespoke methodologies or invest in third party consultancy services or products.  Over the last five years ESRI Ireland has helped GIS users and managers  to significantly reduce the overhead associated with data management, while ensuring that base mapping datasets are fit for purpose and deliver business benefit across the organisation.  This was only achievable through proactive engagement with our colleagues at OSNI”

Crawford McIlveen, OSNI Commercial Manager, commented “OSNI is delighted to welcome ESRI Ireland as a Licensed Partner. We look forward to developing a close working arrangement which will enable us to improve access to and increase the use of our data across the public and private sectors in ”.
OSNI Licensed Partner status allows ESRI Ireland to build on this by bringing more value added data products to the market as part of their unique geographic information solutions for. NImapWeb (www.nimap.net), NImapDesktop, BasemapNI, LocatorNI using Pointer®, GeoPortalNI (www.geoportal.org) are all base map data solutions that were designed, built and deployed specifically for the Northern Ireland GI community.

NImapDesktop is another success story as a result of the collaboration between ESRI Ireland and OSNI - This “quick start” bundle incorporates everything needed to get up and running with GIS, helping organisations make the most of their capability to access all OSNI base mapping and orthophotography.
“We are delighted to form part of OSNI’s Licensed Partner network and looking forward to working on many mutually beneficially initiatives & the challenges they will bring in the coming years” concluded Paul.
