ESRI Ireland Launches NImapEnterprise
2007-07-01
Building on the success of NImapWeb and NImapDesktop, ESRI Ireland is pleased to announce the launch of NImapEnterprise.
NImapEnterprise is a product and services solution bundle exclusively available from ESRI Ireland to Northern Ireland Councils who are participating in the Northern Ireland Mapping Agreement. It offers a viable solution for organisations that see the potential strategic benefits of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), but are inhibited by its apparent complexity.
Interest in both NImapWeb (www.nimap.net) and NImapDesktop has been extremely high and their existence is encouraging more organisations to consider the use of geographic information within their respective businesses. One of the key driving factors behind this tailor-made solution is that it provides a cost effective way to implement, maintain and manage a corporate GI environment – while at the same time, minimising the overhead associated with the on-going management and maintenance of spatial datasets from Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland.
In addition, the launch of NImapEnterprise represents a clear path for Councils under NIMA to put in place corporate level GI at an attractive cost. NImapEnterprise includes, a centralised spatial data repository, desktop software, Intranet web mapping applications, training and a GIS Scoping Study to help define the strategic direction for GIS within the Council and incorporates everything an organisation needs to implement an enterprise level GIS system.
Paul Synnott, Head of Sales at ESRI Ireland commented “NImapEnterprise is a cost effective bundled solution demonstrating clear value for money and is available to all participating NIMA organisations. Local government throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom is working towards meeting government-imposed deadlines for the delivery of on-line services. In particular authorities are being encouraged to innovate in terms of how they work and deliver information and services to both their employees and customers (the citizen). NImapEnterprise will help organisations address the issues associated with this changing landscape”.
