ArcGIS 9.2 Major Release Seminars - A Huge Success!

2007-03-09

Almost 200 GIS professionals representing over 90 organisations attended the ESRI Ireland’s Major Release Seminars that took place last month.

The Senior Executive Seminar “ArcGIS 9.2 – Exploring the Opportunities” was hosted in the President’s Room at the RDS on Thursday 8th February. This was aimed exclusively at key decision makers providing an open platform to network and exchange information amongst GIS peers.  Invited guests learned about the latest developments in ArcGIS 9.2 and it’s many business benefits.  The presentations were delivered solely by ESRI Ireland professionals and were, by all accounts very well received.

The Major Release Seminars then moved to the Holiday Inn, Belfast on Tuesday 13th and concluded in the Westin, Dublin on Thursday 15th February.  Both Belfast and Dublin attendees listened attentively to presentations that spanned a number of different topics including ArcGIS 9.2 – The Headlines, Mobile Workforce Applications, The Geoprocessing Framework, Beyond Web Mapping and Desktop Enhancements.

Paul Synnott, Head of Sales at ESRI Ireland closed the proceedings by summarising “What 9.2 Means to You” in terms of Licences and Maintenance and announced two dedicated Training courses “What’s New in Desktop 9.2!”  taking place in Dublin (22nd March) and Belfast (19th April).

“We were delighted with the interest expressed in the 9.2 Major Release Seminars, proven by the strength in numbers at each event.  We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who attended and especially to those who provided detailed feedback.  All of the comments were extremely encouraging and are invaluable in the planning of future ESRI Ireland events”.
