Mapping Haiti - Get Involved

The Missing Maps project is using volunteers globally to fill the gaps in the network of world street maps, and you can get involved.

Eight areas in Cite Soleil have been identified for the Concern five year project (5 urban and 3 peri-urban) and options to expand could be explored based on the results of mapping these two areas and level of community engagement in 2017.

2016 Event Schedule

  • February 8th 2017 – 1) Mapathon hosted by DIT Bolton Street
  • September 23rd 2016 – 2) Launch event at Esri Ireland offices (staff only)
  • December 12th 2016 -  3) Mapping Day for staff and online volunteers

More events will be planned for 2017 in Ireland and when sufficient remote mapping has happened, events will also be arranged in Haiti where local volunteers can verify maps and add more detail with the support of staff from Concern Worldwide Haiti.
